Psalms 121 "The Lord Our Protector"

I look to the mountains;
       where will my help comes from?
²My help will come from the LORD,
    who made heaven and earth.

³He will not let us fall;
your Protector is always awake.

⁴The protector of Israel
never dozes or sleeps.
⁵The LORD will guard you;
he is by your side to protect you.
⁶The sun will not hurt you during the day,
nor the moon during the night.

⁷The LORD will protect you from all danger;
he will keep you safe.
⁸He will protect you as you come and go
now and for ever.

Amen.

Ministers of God and their people by Rev Fr Benjamin Anthony

Ministers of God and their Community by Rev Fr Benjamin Anthony. Today's readings are talking about the cost of being in Christ and responding to God's call to be a minister.  Reading mostly emphasizes you in the account of the grace to persevere on Making God's call a foundation of total dependence on God no matter any rejection. According to the Gospel of Mark 6:4; that says that " A prophet is respected everywhere except in his town and by his relative and his family". And this typically runs on the main team of today's readings. This very rejection started from Jesus Christ himself who is the root of all ministers. Jesus, the son of God passed many rejections and many insults, mostly in his hometown. And to this, we should not be surprised when things alike happen to us for it's part of the call. But note this; Jesus Christ could not perform miracles in his hometown as he did in other towns, tribes, and countries. For this, when king. Herod wanted to t...

Listening Ears of the Laity to the Priest on the Pulpit

 Listening Ears of the Laity to the Priest on the Pulpit.  Edited by  Raphael Arinze Sometimes, I always ponder why those who are called Christians always behave like pegans; like unbelievers.  What is happening? And what could be the cause? When Christians are supposed to be the light to the whole, salts of the earth....., As Jesus Christ put it for us. Despite all the provisions and equipment, made available in a spiritual realm to keep us going, no matter any circumstances and derived demand to traits our minds back forward. Our live as Christians  don't align with the demands of a Christian call. Let us face it.  Christians are made to always represent Christ all places in everywhere as the case maybe.  Why do we often fail? when we always read the Bible and go to church as we practice.  The Spirit of God is always in us,  and for it to be active in our lives; God bestows His Spirit upon his Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ so that we can bost ...

CATHOLIC CHURCH ETIQUETTE

  When we talk about the word "Etiquette", etymologically it is not only applied to behavior at a party, dining table or formal meeting. There is also Church Etiquette which is neglected at the Holy Mass as follows: 1.   One must fast for at least 1 hour before receiving the Holy Eucharist. The only exceptions are medicine, water or unless someone is ill and needs to eat. 2.   Dress modestly; the Holy Mass is not a fashion show. The Holy Mass is not a part of American fashion display. Dress in a way that gives witness to your faith as a Christian and not to seduce anyone. 3.   Go early to Holy Mass, at least 30 to 15 minutes before the Holy Mass begins. And be as close to the altar as possible in order to pray silently and meditate before the Holy Mass begins. 4.    Before entering the Church (that is when there is no exposition of the Blessed Eucharist), make a single genuflection by your knee and also make a deep bow towards the Tabernacle....
